Job summary

EMED Group is seeking a proactive Lead for the Peterborough Dispatch and Planning Team to coordinate non-emergency patient transport services, liaise with patients and system partners, and manage performance of direct reports.

You will oversee end-to-end transport pathways, foster strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement in dispatch and planning processes to ensure timely and efficient journeys.

Qualifications

• Experience in a regulated, time-critical operational environment.
• Experience in logistics, control, route planning or analytical roles.
• Experience delivering against time-critical KPIs and using systems to monitor performance.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills gained from dealing with customers/public and internal customers.
• Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to multi-task and prioritise.
• Proven people management skills, with ability to coach and support team members, manage conversations fairly.
• Confidence handling difficult conversations (conduct, attendance, performance).
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line management to the dispatch and planning team, including supervision, coaching, performance monitoring, attendance and conduct handling.
• Create a positive, accountable and supportive team culture aligned with KPIs and service standards.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and service standards.
• Facilitate clear, proactive communication with all stakeholders.
• Manage operational challenges with strategic problem solving.
• Maintain end-to-end journey flow across control areas via liaison with colleagues and site stakeholders, re-planning resources as needed to minimise KPI impact.
• Support ongoing process improvements to enhance efficiency and patient satisfaction.
• Conduct deep dives into patient activity to improve service and patient experience.
• Collaborate with local operations to resolve capacity and resource challenges.
