Job summary

Royal Borough of Greenwich is seeking a Disability and Home Improvement Service Manager to lead a diverse team and drive inclusive housing services. The role focuses on enabling residents to live independently and safely, managing major adaptations and private sector schemes with a strong emphasis on outcomes.

You will report to the Head of Housing Inclusion and Support Services, oversee a broad portfolio, and shape policy and strategy while controlling a substantial £8 million budget.

Qualifications

• Significant experience managing customer-focused housing, adaptation, or home improvement services.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing budgets.
• Knowledge of Disabled Facilities Grants and private sector home improvements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary team of approximately 50 staff and oversee a broad portfolio of services.
• Oversee major disabled adaptations, private sector home improvement agency services, private sector renewal, handyperson services, private sector empty properties and the housing occupational therapy service.
• Develop strategy, shape policy, manage budgets of approximately £8 million, oversee contract and programme delivery.
• Ensure the Council meets statutory responsibilities while delivering excellent customer outcomes.
