Job summary

Sanctuary Supported Living at Hilltop House in Bury St Edmunds is seeking a Care and Support Assistant to help customers with learning and physical disabilities gain independence and participate in daily activities.

You will work as a key worker to support personalised care plans, assist with daily routines, and enable access to the community. A compassionate, team-friendly approach and good IT skills are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or working towards it.
• Experience in personal care is helpful but not essential.
• Proficient IT skills (Microsoft Office).

Responsibilities

• Support customers with learning and physical disabilities to build independence and reach their potential.
• Work as a key worker to help individuals create and follow care and support plans.
• Provide personalised care, including safe medication management.
• Assist customers with daily routines such as getting up, washed and dressed.
• Support customers to access the community, including shops, cafés, friends and appointments.
• Promote a positive culture by engaging with customers and reducing social isolation.
• Help maintain a clean and comfortable environment and follow safe practices, including risk assessments.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing customer needs.
• Strong organisational skills.
