Sanctuary Supported Living in Leicester is seeking a dedicated Support Assistant to provide hands-on, high-quality support for people with disabilities. You will help develop daily living skills, promote inclusion, and advocate with agencies while maintaining safety and accurate records.

The role emphasizes a caring, approachable mindset, excellent communication, teamwork, and IT proficiency with Microsoft Office to support staff and services.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards it.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Proficient IT skills and Microsoft Office experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide a hands-on, high-quality support service
• Encourage customers to develop daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping and community involvement
• Promote social inclusion and help customers build confidence, resilience and self-esteem
• Work with agencies on behalf of customers, encouraging choice and acting as an advocate when needed
• Maintain a safe environment and follow relevant regulations and practices
• Caring, approachable nature
• Ability to keep accurate records and share information clearly with the team
• Excellent communication skills to build positive relationships with customers, families and agencies
• Experience working effectively as part of a team
• Positive and accepting approach to customers whatever their needs
• Proficient technology/IT skills (Microsoft Office and similar)
