Job Description:
Our global consulting client's Strategy function continues to grow, and they are seeking an exceptional individual to take a senior leadership role in their Retail, Consumer, and Leisure team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in commercial due diligence, deal strategy, and private equity. Additional experience in growth strategy, cost and operational strategy, and enterprise-wide transformation is also valued.
Exceptional senior managers or associate directors may also be considered for this position.
Role and responsibilities:
- Maintain existing client relationships, especially with the UK/European Private Equity and M&A community, to reinforce credibility and generate project opportunities. Extensive M&A experience, including Commercial Due Diligence, M&A Strategy, and Value Creation, is critical.
- Manage client relationships and serve as a key contact for clients.
- Anticipate, understand, and articulate client requirements during projects.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills in written, slide, and verbal formats.
- Present findings to senior clients and challenge their and colleagues' thinking when appropriate.
- Lead large, complex projects, acting as the primary client liaison and representing the firm.
- Guide the team to deliver client-ready outputs that exceed expectations with minimal review.
- Support and review the design and execution of complex analyses for credibility and accuracy.
- Identify and lead go-to-market, thought leadership, and marketing opportunities.
- Seek leadership opportunities and act as a role model within the team.
- Ensure adherence to the firm's risk management frameworks, consulting with senior staff as needed.
- Bring experience from a leading strategy consulting firm, Big 4, or corporate strategy team.
- Have a strong understanding of the Consumer sector, including Consumer Goods, Retail, Travel, and Leisure, with insights into sector evolution.
- Lead mid-sized and large projects, designing work plans and managing teams for excellent outputs and project economics.
- Possess extensive knowledge of recent M&A transactions in the Consumer sector.
- Independently generate sales opportunities and maintain strong client relationships.
- Initiate marketing, proposals, scope, and pricing efforts for consulting assignments.
- Drive new business initiatives from conception to execution.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Build followership among junior staff members.
- Take on internal responsibilities, such as team management and technical insights.
