Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Technical Director – Ports and Maritime Engineering to lead UK Ports and Maritime capabilities, delivering complex civil, structural, geotechnical, seismic and maritime solutions within Defence-related infrastructure.

You will shape technical strategy, mentor engineers, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, engage at senior client levels, and drive high-quality, safe, and buildable outcomes across major programmes.

Qualifications

Chartered Engineer status or equivalent with strategic leadership experience.
Significant civil/structural design experience with BS/Eurocode standards.
Extensive ports/maritime or heavy civil engineering leadership.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities in evolving environments.
Good commercial awareness and client/stakeholder understanding.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement at senior levels.
Experience leading technical delivery on major programmes; risk, scope and budget awareness.
Proactive, collaborative team leadership and capability development.
Commitment to health, safety and quality with continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
