Job summary

Bosworth Independent School in Northampton seeks a dynamic Head of Sciences to lead Biology, Chemistry and Physics across A Level, GCSE, and Pre‑A Level. You will develop a strategic improvement plan, guide curriculum design and promote high standards in teaching and assessment.

You will analyse performance data, coordinate targeted interventions and support colleagues through coaching and professional development while ensuring safe, engaging practical science provision.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead a Science faculty and align priorities with school development plans.
• Experience teaching Biology, Chemistry or Physics at secondary level and across key stages.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review a concise faculty improvement plan with measurable priorities.
• Oversee provision and academic outcomes in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and KS3 Science across A Level, GCSE, Pre A Level and UFP.
• Analyse exam data to identify gaps and drive teaching priorities.
• Manage attainment data reporting and use it to plan targeted support.
• Lead recruitment, induction and professional development for science staff.
• Coordinate staff coverage and budgets for safe practical science provision.
