Future Academies in the United Kingdom is seeking an ambitious Head of Science or an aspiring Head of Science with a passion for the subject and a strong commitment to raising standards. The role offers either full responsibility for the Science department or a leadership remit with development toward the Head of Science position.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent subject knowledge, strong classroom practice and the ability to inspire both students and colleagues.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years experience in a similar role
• Qualified Teacher Status essential
• GCSE Maths and English grade 4-9 (A-C) or equivalent
• Degree in a relevant subject essential

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic development of the Science department or leadership remit with support toward the full Head of Science role
• Deliver an ambitious and engaging science curriculum and raise student outcomes
• Inspire students and colleagues to develop curiosity, scientific thinking and enthusiasm for the subject
