Job summary

E-Act Bristol Academy South is seeking a Head of Science to lead, develop and grow the Science Department, driving outstanding teaching and learning across all key stages.

You will shape curriculum development, champion innovative teaching practices, and coach staff to raise attainment while collaborating with senior leaders to ensure high expectations and excellence for every student.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognised equivalent.
• Proven leadership experience within a school setting.
• Ability to lead and develop a team to achieve outstanding student outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of curriculum development, assessment and strategies to raise attainment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop the Science department, driving high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages.
• Monitor student progress and attainment, implementing effective strategies to raise achievement and outcomes.
• Develop, implement and review an engaging and ambitious Science curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
• Coach, mentor and support Science staff through professional development, performance management and CPD opportunities.
• Lead innovative teaching practices and contribute to whole-school improvement, working closely with senior leaders to drive excellence
