Job summary

Cambridge Maths School is seeking a Head of Science to lead Biology, Chemistry and Physics and shape an ambitious science curriculum for highly able sixth-form students. The role is ideal for a leader who can inspire and drive curriculum innovation, assessment quality and student outcomes.

The post includes responsibility for coaching colleagues, promoting enrichment with university links and outreach, and ensuring wellbeing and inclusion across the science faculty. TLR2 available.

Qualifications

• Excellent grades in A level science (or equivalent qualifications).
• Qualified teacher status required.
• Hons degree in science or related subject; PGCE preferred.
• Recent teaching experience with high attaining 16–19 year olds.
• Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy for science across the school including Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
• Support curriculum planning, assessment and quality assurance.
• Coach and develop science staff to promote excellence.
• Promote enrichment activities including university links and outreach.
• Ensure high standards of student achievement and engagement.
