The Waldorf Astoria Admiralty Arch is seeking a Director of Sales to join the pre-opening team of this luxury hotel scheduled to open in early 2026. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced sales leader to contribute to the launch of one of London's most anticipated hotels.

The hotel will be located in the historic Admiralty Arch, a Grade I listed building at the end of The Mall, opposite Buckingham Palace.

In partnership with Hilton and Reuben Brothers, the hotel will feature 112 rooms and suites, including a VIP two-bedroom suite on the fourth-floor bridge with views of Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square. Amenities will include a rooftop terrace, ground-floor terrace overlooking St James's Park, renowned dining venues, a spa, and a ballroom for 320 guests. The property will also include residential apartments and a private members' club, blending luxury with historical preservation.

Role Overview

The Director of Sales manages hotel sales and marketing strategies, focusing on growth, market positioning, and client relationships within the luxury segment. The role involves leading a sales team, representing the hotel at events, managing budgets, and contributing to strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales and marketing plans aligned with business objectives
  • Collaborate with senior management to identify and support key business areas
  • Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing sales team
  • Represent the hotel at luxury trade shows and events
  • Host client entertainment and engagement activities
  • Manage sales budgets and monitor performance
  • Prepare contracts and manage offers and discounts for repeat bookings
  • Coordinate with Revenue Department on forecasting and reporting
  • Contribute to annual sales and marketing plans and budgets
  • Develop local sales initiatives and ensure effective communication of hotel services
  • Produce and present regular sales performance reports
  • Work closely with other departments to enhance guest experience and sales programs

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates will have:

  • London 5-star experience at senior sales management level
  • Luxury hospitality expertise and connections within the US luxury travel community (Virtuoso, Amex TLS, Internova)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proven sales success and ability to coach teams
  • Flexibility and resilience under pressure
