About the Client

Our client is a leading medical cannabis healthcare brand, combining digital-first innovation with a strong physical retail footprint. As pioneers in one of the most tightly regulated and rapidly growing sectors, they are redefining how patients access and experience plant-based medicine. Backed by a high-performance leadership team with international success scaling healthcare ventures, the company is now seeking a Director of People & Talent own talent acquisition and support the companies rapidly scaling operations.

The Role

The Director of People & Talent will play a pivotal role in leading the company’s talent acquisition engine, while also ensuring a high-performing and values-aligned culture. You will oversee the entire People function, with a primary focus on high-volume recruitment across multiple departments, while also championing engagement, performance, and culture across the business.

This is a hands-on, strategic leadership role designed for someone who can build and scale a People function in a high-growth, fast-moving environment.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Growth Hiring - Lead high-volume recruitment efforts across multiple business units, ensuring talent pipelines are aligned to rapid scaling targets.

Team Leadership - Manage and mentor a growing talent team of 5, ensuring operational excellence and strong candidate experiences.

Process & Systems - Develop robust systems and scalable recruitment processes, with clear reporting, accountability, and performance tracking.

Employer Brand - Champion a compelling employer value proposition and ensure consistent messaging across all touchpoints.

Stakeholder Collaboration - Partner closely with business unit leaders to anticipate talent needs and advise on team structures, timelines, and role clarity.

Culture & Engagement - Work alongside the HR team to nurture a high-performance culture, driven by strong values, clear communication, and cross-functional collaboration.

Strategic Projects - Collaborate on cross-functional people projects including DE&I, onboarding improvements, and retention strategies.

Your Background

• Proven experience leading volume hiring in fast-paced environments - ideally from agency or in-house roles in high-growth health-tech, consumer, or regulated sectors.

• 5+ years of progressive leadership in talent acquisition or HR, with demonstrable team management experience.

• Track record of building scalable recruitment functions with an eye for both efficiency and candidate experience.

• Highly organised, commercially minded, and confident advising senior leadership.

• Exceptional communication skills and ability to manage multiple complex hiring projects at once.

• Deep understanding of employer branding and recruitment marketing strategies.

• Familiarity with regulatory requirements in healthcare/pharmaceutical or similarly complex sectors is advantageous.

Compensation

• Base salary: £90,000 – £110,000 depending on experience

• Bonus potential and long-term incentives

• Private healthcare and additional benefits aligned with executive roles
