Operations Director - Scotland, Northern Ireland and Borders (Adult Care)

This is a great opportunity to join Priory Adult Care as an Operations Director.

You will be an experienced operational leader responsible for ensuring the highest quality care standards, cost control, commissioning, employee engagement and retention initiatives, engaging with stakeholders, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Reporting to a Managing Director, you will oversee the financial, quality, and operational performance of the region, collaborating with finance, HR, recruitment, business development, and quality teams. This is a remote position requiring regular travel across Northern Ireland, Scotland, and North East England. Applicants must reside within these areas and expect 60-80% travel within the area, plus bi-monthly travel to the North West of England.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a culture prioritizing safety, quality, and excellent service user care.
  • Manage the Operational Management Team, monitoring performance against quality standards, KPIs, financial targets, and care standards.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory bodies, review internal quality inspections, and implement necessary actions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including Local Authorities and Care Commissioning Groups.
  • Oversee recruitment processes, monitor vacancies, and support recruitment team performance.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Experience managing large, multi-site teams, promoting person-centered care, financial stewardship, and team development.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, multitask, and work under pressure in dynamic environments.
  • Operational and financial planning experience with commercial accountability for cost control and business growth.
  • Experience working within a matrix organization, influencing multiple functions to deliver high-quality service.
  • Understanding of social care factors and a passion for delivering high-quality, person-centered services; previous social care management experience is beneficial but not essential.
  • A full, clean driving license and access to a vehicle are essential due to travel requirements.
