Wesport aims to inspire active lives, creating the conditions wherever possible to help everyone move more. They look to establish conditions for long-term change, creating inclusive structures and enabling everyone to be physically active. The organisation collaborates with local authorities in Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire
Wesport is seeking a Director of Health & Physical Activity, a pivotal executive leadership role sitting directly below the CEO. The postholder will lead Wesport’s strategic approach across local health systems, helping embed physical activity as a driver for improved health outcomes. They will shape and hold key relationships, advocate for the role of moving more, and lead relevant teams and programmes across the West of England.
The Director will contribute to organisational strategy, lead staff, manage resources, and build collaborative approaches across sectors. They will represent Wesport locally, regionally and nationally, and oversee impactful initiatives such as Falls Prevention, Link Forward for Vanguard, and Feeling Better in South Glos.
Wesport is looking for an experienced strategic leader, with the ability to build effective working relationships and cross-sector stakeholder working, developing strong and successful partnerships to achieve positive outcomes. Experience of working with health/wellbeing, physical activity or VCSE sectors required for this role.
