Job summary

Champneys Mottram Hall invites a strategic and hands-on Director of Golf to lead our golf operation, shop, range and services, including supervision of the head golf professional.

As a key member of the Golf Management Team, you will drive guest experience, revenue growth and staff development across all golf departments at Mottram Hall, Cheshire.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the management and performance of golf shop and department operations; ensure high standards and customer satisfaction.
• Establish golf shop operations personnel policies; hire, train, supervise and develop staff.
• Develop operating procedures and training manuals for golf operation.
• Oversee and manage the Head Golf Professional(s) and all golf department staff.
• Schedule and chair staff meetings focused on customers, operations, revenue growth and continuous improvement.
• Represent the facility at committees, staff, and public meetings as invited.
• Develop annual business plans for the golf operation and coordinate with F&B for events and on-course needs.
• Meet, greet and welcome prospective customers/patrons.

Golf @ Mottram Hall:

Open all year round and welcoming to golfers of all abilities, the course is set in 270 acres of Cheshire’s finest parkland and located one mile from the picturesque village of Prestbury, the tricky, well-guarded greens are broken up into two contrasting circuits of nine. Thanks to a £1.5 million refurbishment, our additional golfing facilities are second to none and include newly covered driving range bays, putting green and short game practice area.

The Role:

As a member of the Golf Management Team, you will oversee the total golf operation and services offered including the golf shop, golf range, golf services areas and golf car operation including supervision of the head golf professional. The position will promote an exceptional “golf experience,” and provide excellent services and programs for all patrons.

Key Responsibilities:

• - Oversee the management and performance of all golf shop and applicable department operations and services; assure high standards and total customer satisfaction.
• - Establish golf shop operations personnel policies and ensure proper hiring, training, supervising, personal development and corrective action in accordance with fair labour standards, safety and established policy.
• - Oversee the development of operating procedures & training manuals for golf operation.
• - Oversee and manage the Head Golf Professional(s) and all golf department staff.
• - Schedules and chair regular staff meetings focused on customers, operations, revenue growth, cost containment and continuous improvement.
• - Attend as invited committee/staff/public meetings representing the facility.
• - Develop/coordinate the development of annual business plans for the golf operation.
• - Coordinate plans with the F&B Manager for all food and beverage needs, on-course food and beverage needs, banquets, outside events, and catering for all golf functions.
• - Meet, greet, and welcome prospective customers/patrons.
