Job summary

Champneys seeks a Golf Operations Manager to oversee the total golf operation, including the golf shop, range, services areas, and golf car operation, while supervising the head golf professional. The role is dedicated to delivering an exceptional golf experience for all patrons through strong leadership and service excellence.

You will develop operational policies, train staff, and coordinate with the F&B team for events and menus, ensuring smooth daily operations and guest satisfaction.

• Establish golf shop personnel policies; hire, train, supervise, and develop staff.
• Develop operating procedures and training manuals for golf operation.
• Oversee Head Golf Professional(s) and department staff management.
• Schedule and chair regular staff meetings focused on customers, operations, revenue growth and improvement.
• Attend committees/ meetings representing the facility and contribute to plans.
• Coordinate annual business plans for golf operation and liaise with F&B for events.

Job description

Open all year round and welcoming to golfers of all abilities, the course is set in 270 acres of Cheshire’s finest parkland and located one mile from the picturesque village of Prestbury, the tricky, well-guarded greens are broken up into two contrasting circuits of nine. Thanks to a £1.5 million refurbishment, our additional golfing facilities are second to none and include newly covered driving range bays, putting green and short game practice area.

The Role:

As a member of the Golf Management Team, you will oversee the total golf operation and services offered including the golf shop, golf range, golf services areas and golf car operation including supervision of the head golf professional. The position will promote an exceptional “golf experience,” and provide excellent services and programs for all patrons.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the management and performance of all golf shop and applicable department operations and services; assure high standards and total customer satisfaction.
• Establish golf shop operations personnel policies and ensure proper hiring, training, supervising, personal development and corrective action in accordance with fair labour standards, safety and established policy.
• Oversee the development of operating procedures & training manuals for golf operation.
• Oversee and manage the Head Golf Professional(s) and all golf department staff.
• Schedules and chair regular staff meetings focused on customers, operations, revenue growth, cost containment and continuous improvement.
• Attend as invited committee/staff/public meetings representing the facility.
• Develop/coordinate the development of annual business plans for the golf operation.
• Coordinate plans with the F&B Manager for all food and beverage needs, on-course food and beverage needs, banquets, outside events, and catering for all golf functions.
• Meet, greet, and welcome prospective customers/patrons.
