Job summary

EKFB is hiring a Head of Disciplines in Milton Keynes to lead and coordinate structures, drainage, geotechnical, rail systems and environmental disciplines. You will drive cross-discipline delivery, oversee specialist consultants and ensure compliance through technical handover documentation.

Seeking Chartered Civil Engineer with extensive project management experience, NEC contracts exposure, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in civil engineering or a related engineering, construction or infrastructure discipline.
• Chartered (CEng MICE) or equivalent professional qualification.
• NEC3/4 Project Management Accreditation or extensive experience managing NEC contracts with both suppliers and clients.
• Ability to lead and manage teams, maintaining focus on key priorities and achieving ‘best for project’ outcomes.
• Evidence-based negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Extensive experience in major engineering project management, with considerable experience managing technically complex challenges to conclusion.
• Strong communication skills that can be applied at various organisational levels, both internally and externally.
• Structural/bridge background desirable, but not essential.
• Previous experience working on HS2 desirable.
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate structures & drainage, geotechnical, rail systems and environmental disciplines to meet programme needs.
• Drive the programme across disciplines for key technical handover documentation and compliance.
• Maintain weekly/monthly reporting to senior leadership and chair meetings with clients and suppliers.
• Manage specialist consultants and external partners as required.
• Ensure contractual entitlement for discipline-related matters upstream to the client and downstream to the supply chain.
• Balance resource levels and forecasts to maintain programme delivery without compromising quality.
