Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Cost Engineering Director to lead the delivery of high-quality cost engineering and cost management services across major UK capital programmes. The role requires steering multidisciplinary teams, developing governance frameworks and delivering robust cost insights for executive decision-making.

You will drive forecasting, risk assessment and performance measurement while guiding clients on industry best practices and digital cost management solutions.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in Cost Engineering, Cost Management, Cost Estimating and Project Controls within large-scale capital programmes and projects.

Responsibilities

• Leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver cost engineering, estimating, forecasting and cost management services across major capital programmes.
• Developing cost management strategies, procedures and governance frameworks to support project delivery and investment assurance.
• Establishing, maintaining and assuring CBS, control budgets, cost baselines and performance measurement.
• Leading preparation, review and assurance of estimates across project lifecycles, including benchmark assessments and independent reviews.
• Driving cost forecasting, trend management, change control and earned value management for accurate performance reporting.
• Providing strategic cost and commercial insight to clients, identifying risks and opportunities for informed decisions.
• Ensuring alignment between cost, schedule, risk, scope and commercial management functions.
• Developing cost assurance, governance and reporting processes to support executive and investment decisions.
• Advising on industry best practice and digital cost management solutions for project controls.
• Collaborating with project, commercial and supply chain teams to establish cost management requirements across contracts.
