About the role

The Director of Business Development at Fortis will identify expansion opportunities and execute publishing agreements, acquisitions, and strategic transactions to accelerate company growth. We seek a collaborative, well-connected individual with strong product instincts, excellent communication skills, and deep relationships within the game developer community. The ideal candidate will have experience engaging with industry leaders and a genuine interest in mobile, PC, and console gaming. Responsibilities include interacting with entrepreneurs, developers, investors, and cross-functional teams from opportunity origination to deal closing, significantly influencing investment decisions and company growth.

What you'll achieve
  • Identify new business opportunities; research and meet with target developers virtually, onsite, and at industry events.
  • Align with internal teams to understand business objectives and growth strategies.
  • Manage and prioritize a pipeline of external targets; maintain relationships and documentation.
  • Lead weekly pipeline meetings and support key initiatives.
  • Develop records of developer interactions and formalize documentation processes.
  • Structure transactions, lead negotiations, and facilitate due diligence with cross-functional teams.
  • Create presentation summaries for deal approvals.
  • Oversee deal completion, ensuring compliance with policies and obtaining approvals.
  • Manage post-deal relationships and handovers to integration teams.
What you'll need to be successful
  • At least 8 years of industry experience with extensive relationships in the game developer community, preferably in developer relations roles.
  • A positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a passion for games across genres and platforms.
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and action-oriented, capable of working independently and seeking guidance when needed.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to engage with C-level executives and external partners persuasively.
  • A collaborative team player with experience managing interdisciplinary projects.
  • International experience and willingness to travel extensively are preferred.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and creative thinking skills, with knowledge of legal contracts, negotiations, and business models.
  • A genuine passion for the evolution of the video game industry.
