Position: Senior Director/Director of Business Development

Location: United Kingdom (Remote)

Client: Leading CRO MedTech Specialist

Planet Pharma is partnered with global leading CRO specialist in the Medical Devices sector who are currently hiring for an experienced and dynamic Director or Senior Director of Business Development to lead the commercial growth of the business in the DACH region.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute business development initiatives across the DACH region, with a focus on MedTech, diagnostics, and biotech.
  • Drive lead generation and conversion by aligning new opportunities with core services in regulatory, clinical, and data management.
  • Manage and grow key client relationships, serving as the primary commercial contact.
  • Partner with internal experts to create tailored proposals, presentations, and responses to RFPs.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor movements to anticipate client needs and market shifts.
  • Represent the company at conferences and industry events to strengthen brand presence.
  • Source and evaluate leads using targeted research, databases, and regulatory intelligence.
  • Contribute to the development of client-centric proposals and pricing strategies in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Provide leadership with regular commercial insights and sales forecasts to guide strategic decisions.

Main Requirements:

  • Life sciences degree; advanced qualifications are advantageous.
  • 8–10 years’ experience in business development or account management within a CRO, preferably in MedTech and diagnostics.
  • Demonstrated success in deal-making and client relationship management across the DACH region.
  • In-depth knowledge of clinical development, regulatory processes, and ISO/GCP standards relevant to medical devices.
  • Well-connected within the regional MedTech landscape, including manufacturers, startups, and innovators.
  • Fluent in German and English
