Job summary

Syneos Health Communications is seeking a Director of Business Development for Europe, with a focus on communications, medical affairs and public relations agencies. Remote location in Europe (Germany preferred) with international travel about 50% of the time.

You will identify new opportunities, manage key accounts across biotech, pharma and medical devices, and lead strategic outreach to grow the business across the UK, France and Germany.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or science-related field.
• Extensive BD experience with track record of sales success.
• Experience in an agency, medical publisher or relevant pharma service provider.
• Deep understanding of biopharmaceutical industry including commercial and medical affairs.
• Ability to work and travel internationally (primarily Europe and USA).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Fluent in English and German; other major European language preferred.
• Experience developing and executing sales and prospecting strategies.
• Strategic mindset and thought leadership.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities within assigned accounts and prospect additional suitable companies.
• Maintain detailed knowledge of accounts, contacts, and Syneos Health footprint.
• Generate personalised outreach daily via email, phone, social, and events.
• Record outreach in CRM and report activity to BD leadership.
• Deliver engaging presentations in person or virtually, 1:1 or to groups.
• Build relationships across the commercial BD organisation for cross-selling.
• Position oneself as an industry thought leader through research and networking.
