Ecclesiastical Insurance, part of Benefact Group, is seeking a Head of Direct Underwriting to lead the Gloucester office. You will define underwriting strategy across four portfolios, drive profitability and strong customer outcomes, and represent the Direct business in strategic initiatives UK-wide.

You will lead Technical Underwriters, champion technical excellence, and build a high-performing team with succession planning and development opportunities.

Formación

• Proven track record in a senior underwriting role.
• Strong portfolio management experience.
• Proven confident and influential communicator at all levels.
• Experience coaching for enhanced performance of others.
• Ability to build and manage cooperative relationships internally and externally.

Responsabilidades

• Set and lead UW standards within the Business Unit and UKGI.
• Direct pricing strategy at portfolio and key account levels.
• Drive the quality framework with actionable improvements from audits.
• Lead competency framework to grow UW capability and succession.
• Engage with risk, claims, and regulatory considerations cross-functionally.
