Ecclesiastical Insurance, part of Benefact Group, seeks a Head of Direct Underwriting for its Gloucester office. You will define and deliver underwriting strategy across four portfolios, drive profitability, and lead a team of Technical Underwriters.

This senior role shapes pricing and strategy with strong external relationships. You will report to the Director of Church, lead strategic initiatives, and ensure customer outcomes while building a capable underwriting function.

Formación

• Proven track record in a senior underwriting role.
• Strong portfolio management experience.
• Confident and influential communicator at all levels.
• Experience of coaching for enhanced performance of others.
• Ability to build cooperative relationships internally and externally.
• Proven ability to apply critical thinking to challenging UW scenarios.

Responsabilidades

• Act as the senior underwriting figurehead within the market and key customers, gaining market insight.
• Manage the portfolio to meet financial objectives and KPIs (GWP, New Business, Retention, Rate, Profitability).
• Develop and manage pricing strategies at portfolio and key account level while balancing retention and profitability.
• Lead business planning with effective challenge and governance.
