ICON is a global healthcare intelligence and clinical research organisation seeking a Director, Business Development in Reading. You will foster client relationships, drive strategic initiatives, and contribute to advancing innovative treatments and therapies.

You will manage end-to-end sales, identify growth opportunities, mentor colleagues, and engage executive-level clients including C-suite. The role requires travel ~40% and a strong background in Observational Research, Real-World Evidence,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, life sciences, or a related discipline.
• Experience in Observational Research, Real-World Evidence, Health Economics, and Market Access.
• Experience in account management, sales, or client services within pharma/biotech/clinical research.
• Understanding of peri-approval and post-approval study operations and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Results-driven with a track record of achieving sales targets and driving growth.
• Willingness to travel approximately 40%.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with clients including executive level and C-suite contacts.
• Provide differentiating, fit-for-purpose solutions and mobilize cross-functional expertise.
• Identify opportunities for account expansion and revenue growth.
• Manage end-to-end sales process from lead generation to contract close.
• Monitor account performance and client satisfaction, identifying areas for improvement.
