Job summary

ICON is a global healthcare intelligence and clinical research organisation seeking a Senior Statistical Analyst to join the Real World Evidence (RWE) team in Reading. You will design and analyze observational studies, develop SAPs, and produce robust statistical outputs for reports and publications.

The role emphasizes SAS programming, advanced statistical methods, and collaboration with clients and cross-functional teams to deliver high‑quality evidence for healthcare decision-making.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Mathematics, Data Science, Public Health, or related quantitative discipline.
• Significant experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare or Real World Evidence environments.
• Advanced SAS programming experience with datasets, analyses, macros, tables, listings and figures.
• Strong understanding of statistical methodologies and their application to healthcare data.
• Experience developing Statistical Analysis Plans (SAPs) and analysis specifications.
• Knowledge of observational study design and health outcomes research is desirable.
• Experience with regression modelling, survival analysis, repeated measures, and other advanced methods.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Support study conception, design and protocol development for real-world evidence projects.
• Develop SAPs and analysis specifications; perform sample size and power calculations.
• Write methods sections and develop analysis plans; create datasets and programs in SAS.
• Produce tables, listings, figures and visualizations for client deliverables.
• Lead quality control and validation of data, variables and analyses.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate statistical requirements to clients.
