Job summary

Amgen in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Director of Observational Research to provide global strategic leadership for the Observational Research Clinical Operations function within CPSO, driving strategy and execution of observational studies and real‑world evidence generation.

You will shape operating models, portfolios, and capabilities, lead high‑performing teams, ensure compliant delivery, and partner with Product Teams and CROs to advance evidence generation for patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree educated with demonstrated global clinical operations leadership.
• Extensive experience in observational research and pragmatic trials.
• Strong knowledge of GCP and regulatory quality standards.
• Experience managing budgets, resources, and CRO partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Lead global observational research strategy and delivery for CPSO.
• Oversee portfolio planning, budgets and governance.
• Build cross-functional partnerships with Product Teams and CROs.
• Develop workforce planning and talent development for Observational Research.
• Drive compliance, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Represent the function in senior leadership forums.
