As a Strategy Director, you will be responsible for leading client engagements (or multiple engagements), coaching and developing talent and also significantly contributing to sales & business development initiatives. You will be highly motivated and skilled in your field and have a passion for addressing the challenges in the industry. While no two projects are the same, you will typically be the client lead on multiple projects, building sustainable client relationships and also leading on business development activities at the same time. You’ll play a vital role in coaching and providing feedback to the team in designing the analysis approach, distilling insights and constructing strategic recommendations.
At times this will include being the bridge from strategy into delivery, and we particularly welcome applications from candidates with experience in selling and delivering new propositions and digital transformations, alongside core strategy skills.

The team: The role sits within the Banking & Payments Strategy team, part of Deloitte's Financial Services Strategy team. You will work with a group of experienced strategists and industry professionals from a diverse range of backgrounds. You’ll also benefit from being part of the wider Monitor Deloitte Strategy community in the UK and globally, with opportunities to learn best practice strategy techniques across industries. Beyond the Strategy team, you will build a network with Banking & Payments experts across Deloitte, in digital, marketing, M&A, regulatory and operations.

Responsibilities : As a Strategy Director your responsibilities will include:
Business development: sourcing and winning strategy work in the banking & payments sector. Leading and developing service offerings and evolving propositions to drive growth in the industry sector
Practice management: Taking a leadership role in the management of the practice, including financial reporting, commercial performance tracking, learning and development and talent management
Relationship management: working closely with clients and internal stakeholders, taking the lead in developing strong professional relationships and liaising with teams to deliver seamless client experience
Leadership and client delivery: Overseeing the day-to-day work of teams across multiple engagements to ensure scope and client deliverables are completed to the highest standard
Commercial management: Managing project budgets and maintaining operational margins whilst ensuring quality standards are adhered to
Continuous learning: proactively developing your own skills, seeking feedback, building knowledge, and sharing your insight with colleagues
Developing our people: mentoring junior colleagues, helping them to build technical as well as soft skills and coaching them to achieve their career aspirations within an inclusive team culture
