Job summary

Cyngor Sir Ceredigion County Council is seeking a Direct Payment Support Officer to assist individuals with direct payments and personalised care planning. The role is hybrid, based in Penmorfa, Aberaeron or Canolfan Rheidol, Aberystwyth, with a focus on safeguarding and person-centred support.

You will liaise with service users, carers, and professionals to ensure compliant budgeting, payroll guidance, and accurate record-keeping while promoting independence and choice.

Qualifications

  • Experience in health, social care, local authority, or support services.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organisational and administrative abilities.
  • Understanding direct payments or personal budgets is desirable.
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
  • Competent IT and record-management skills.
  • Fluent Welsh language is required.

About the Role

As a Direct Payment Support Officer, you will work closely with service users, carers, families, and partner organisations to provide guidance and support regarding direct payments and personalised care arrangements. You will help individuals understand and manage their direct payment packages, ensuring compliance with policies and promoting independence, dignity, and choice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advice and support to individuals receiving direct payments.
  • Assist service users with setting up and managing care arrangements.
  • Support with payroll, budgeting, and record-keeping guidance.
