Job summary

STV Group in Glasgow is seeking a creative and technically skilled video editor to join our Formats team. You’ll help transform stories into engaging video content for YouTube, social platforms and emerging digital channels.

You will work alongside journalists and producers to develop and enhance stories through video, contributing ideas for new formats and editorial workflows. This role combines storytelling with technical editing under a dynamic newsroom setup.

Qualifications

• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and Premiere Pro.
• Strong storytelling instincts and ability to craft engaging content.
• Demonstrated editing of short-form social content and mid/long-form YouTube videos.
• Good understanding of YouTube and digital content distribution.
• Experience within editorial or production workflows and using planning tools.

Responsibilities

• Edit high-quality video content for YouTube, social platforms and other digital channels.
• Create engaging short-form and long-form content tailored to audiences and platforms.
• Collaborate with journalists, producers and newsroom colleagues to develop stories via video.
• Contribute ideas for new video formats and creative treatments.
• Manage content through editorial workflows and sign-off processes.
• Optimise, schedule and publish content using planning tools.
• Stay up to date with audience trends and best practices in digital video.
