Job description

We're looking for a Digital Product Manager to lead the development and continuous improvement of the University of Bristol's student app and related digital products. Working within the Content team in Education and Student Success, you'll play a key role in shaping the digital experience of thousands of students across the University.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about creating user-centred digital services. You'll bring together insight, technology and user needs to ensure our digital products are intuitive, reliable and impactful, helping students access information, complete key tasks and get the most from their university experience.

Working with colleagues from across the University, including UX, design, development and service teams, you'll translate strategic priorities into a clear product roadmap that delivers measurable value for students and the institution.

What will you be doing?

You'll take ownership of the University's student app and related digital products, shaping their future direction and ensuring they continue to meet the needs of our students. Working closely with colleagues from across Education and Student Success, IT Services and other professional service teams, you'll develop and deliver a clear product roadmap that balances user needs, business priorities and technical requirements.

A key part of the role will be understanding the student experience through user research, analytics and stakeholder feedback, using these insights to identify opportunities for improvement and drive product development. You'll oversee products throughout their lifecycle, from identifying and prioritising new enhancements through to implementation and, where appropriate, service retirement.

You'll work as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside developers, UX and UI specialists and content experts, helping to turn complex challenges into simple, effective digital solutions. You'll also build strong relationships across the University, influencing stakeholders, managing competing priorities and ensuring our digital services continue to deliver value for students and the institution.

You should apply if

This role would suit someone who enjoys bringing together strategy, user insight and technology to create digital products that genuinely improve people's experiences. You'll have experience managing digital products in an agile environment and be confident taking ownership of a roadmap, making evidence-based decisions and balancing a range of stakeholder needs.

You'll be comfortable working with multidisciplinary teams and have a strong understanding of how user research, analytics and performance measures can be used to shape and improve products. We're looking for someone who can communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, build credibility with stakeholders at all levels and influence decisions through collaboration rather than authority.

You'll also bring experience of delivering significant digital change, along with a strong understanding of content strategy, governance and user-centred design principles. Most importantly, you'll be motivated by creating high-quality digital experiences and excited by the opportunity to help shape how students interact with the University throughout their journey.
