St John Ambulance is seeking a Digital Learning & Innovation Lead to shape the future of learning using digital technology. You will lead our digital learning strategy, manage the LMS and learning technology roadmap, and ensure our platforms deliver exceptional learner experiences across commercial, community and volunteer training portfolios.

Job Summary

As Digital Learning & Innovation Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of learning at St John Ambulance. You’ll lead our digital learning strategy, driving the development of innovative, accessible and engaging digital and blended learning experiences across our commercial, community and volunteer training portfolios. With responsibility for our Learning Management System (LMS) and wider learning technology roadmap, you’ll ensure our digital platforms and products deliver an outstanding learner experience, support educational excellence and enable us to reach more people in new and innovative ways.

Working collaboratively across Education, Commercial, Digital, Technology and operational teams, you’ll turn ideas and emerging technologies into practical learning solutions that improve how we deliver, measure and grow our education offer. You’ll lead and inspire a specialist team, influence senior stakeholders and champion innovation, from AI-enabled learning to new digital products, using insight and data to drive continuous improvement. About You

We're looking for someone who is passionate about the potential of digital learning and technology to transform education. You'll bring:

• Significant experience leading digital learning, learning technology or digital transformation initiatives within a complex organisation.
• Strong experience owning, implementing or optimising a Learning Management System (LMS), with a focus on learner experience, educational outcomes and business needs.
• A proven track record of developing and delivering digital and blended learning products, from initial concept through to launch, evaluation and continuous improvement.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the confidence to build relationships and work collaboratively across education, technology, commercial and operational teams.
• Experience leading, motivating and developing specialist teams, creating an environment where people can innovate, collaborate and deliver their best work.
• A forward-thinking approach to innovation, with an interest in emerging technologies such as AI, adaptive learning and automation, and the ability to turn new opportunities into practical solutions.

About the Role

As Digital Learning & Innovation Lead, you'll have the opportunity to shape how St John Ambulance delivers education through digital technology. You will:

• Lead and deliver our digital learning and innovation strategy, ensuring it supports our organisational ambitions, educational priorities and commercial growth.
• Take the lead on our LMS and wider learning technology roadmap, driving improvements to functionality, accessibility, governance and the overall learner experience.
• Shape and oversee the development of innovative digital and blended learning products, ensuring they deliver high-quality, engaging and effective learning experiences.
• Work closely with colleagues across Education, Commercial, Digital, Technology and Data to turn learning needs into effective digital solutions and drive organisation-wide transformation.
• Explore and champion emerging technologies and new ways of learning, using data, insight and learner feedback to identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
• Lead, inspire and develop a specialist team, building digital learning capability across the organisation and helping St John Ambulance reach more learners through scalable, innovative education.
