Job summary

University of Nottingham is seeking an Administrator in the School of Life Sciences. You will support teaching delivery, manage day-to-day administrative tasks and act as a first point of contact for students and staff.

The Education and Student Experience Team in the School of Life Sciences is looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Administrator to make an important contribution to this welcoming and successful team.


You will be responsible for a wide variety of administrative procedures and tasks which contribute to the organisation and delivery of teaching and learning, and which support the school’s digital learning platforms and learning resources. You will be a first point of contact for students and academic colleagues across this large and complex school. You will also support the School’s open days, student induction, graduation and other events and activities to enhance the student experience. You will be responsible for providing administrative support to committee groups, and your role will include day to day purchasing of goods, services and travel associated with teaching.


You will need excellent organisational and administrative skills and experience of managing your own workload and day to day priorities. You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and customer service, able to interact effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders. You will have proven IT skills and excellent attention to detail. You will be experienced in working supportively as part of a team to deliver activities in a fast-paced and varied environment.

This is a permanent, full-time post (36.25 hours per week). Job share arrangements may be considered.


The University of Nottingham supports hybrid working with arrangements agreed locally. In practice this means the team balances the working week with some time spent on campus and some time spent working from home to support flexibility, recognising that individuals and teams can be effective given the choice of environment.
