Job summary

The Port of Dover invites applications for a Digital Apprentice eager to start a career in IT and Digital Services. This Level 3 apprenticeship lasts 16 months plus end point assessment, combining formal learning with real-work experience across IT Operations, Business Systems, Development and Digital Project delivery.

You'll gain hands-on exposure to Microsoft 365, AI tools, automation and modern workplace technologies while supporting colleagues and contributing to digital projects and

Qualifications

• GCSEs including English and Maths at grade 4/C or above.
• Genuine interest in Information Technology and emerging technologies.
• Strong enthusiasm for learning and developing new skills.
• Good problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Comfortable using digital tools and technology.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Interest in AI and how tech can improve the workplace.
• Awareness of cyber security and responsible technology use.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line IT support to colleagues and resolve technical issues.
• Support the administration and maintenance of Microsoft 365 and business systems.
• Develop practical experience with AI and automation technologies.
• Assist with testing, implementation and support of new systems.
• Contribute to digital transformation and business improvement projects.
• Create user guides, knowledge articles and training materials.
• Help manage IT assets and technology equipment throughout their lifecycle.
• Develop knowledge of cyber security and information governance.
• Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation.
