Brand ambassadors include former track cyclist Sir Chris Hoy, an eleven-time world champion and six-time Olympic champion, and Eilish McColgan, who won gold in the 2022 Commonwealth Games 10,000 metres.

PhD Nutrition is a premium, active-nutrition brand for the active lifestyle community wanting intelligent nutrition to help them achieve their goals. With over 20 years of research and development, our products are designed to maximise performance in and out of the gym. It’s an exciting time for PhD Nutrition as 2025 will kick off an entirely new line up of brand ambassadors, from hybrid athletes to qualified sports nutritionists.

The two brands sell through the phd.com and scienceinsport.com digital platforms, third-party online marketplaces including Amazon, as well as extensive domestic and international retail distribution.

In 2022 the company opened a state of the art 160,000 square foot manufacturing and logistics facility in Blackburn, Lancashire. Providing a significant advantage in product costs and customer response time and most importantly, allowing Science In Sport to lead the way for quality standards.

Science In Sport is a Performance Solutions partner to globally recognised elite teams, including Tottenham Hotspur, Saracens Rugby, British Triathlon, Aquatics GB, British Cycling, England Netball and Loughborough Sports. The Role

The SEO and Content Manager is a pivotal role in our strategy to elevate both our PhD and SiS websites, collaborating with Tech, Brand, and Marketing to drive change and be part of a process driven team. You will be experienced in organic growth and SEO strategies, as you will be leading on content changes, advising the team on best practices and industry guidance.

The work - Your 4 most important responsibilities

  • Ownership of the process of content going onto our .com sites, being the gatekeeper and leading with your technical insight on URL structures, keywords and best in class imagery
  • Ownershipof the SEO strategy, driving it forward, acting as an internal agency across the digital business
  • Collaborationwith the marketing team to define the keyword strategy, set URL structures and bring our partnerships to life online
  • Provision ofinsights on key content and growth areas to Brand teams, aligning with growth goals and helping to maximise on acquisition goals to increase relevant and quality site traffic and organic rankings

Accountability – what you are responsible for delivering

  • A brand-led experience on site and seamless customer journeys – no one should be coming across a 404
  • Content plans across web and CRM to drive the brands forward
  • New pages to accommodate and support the overall commercial strategy of .com
  • SEO audits of brands with comprehensive clean up tasks monthly and as required
  • Good site health, with checks in place to prioritise and resolve issues
  • Circulating a monthly SEO reporting to key stakeholders with commentary, analysis and next steps/suggested optimisations

Capability - the skills and behaviours required to do this job well

  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with Adobe Commerce (Magento)
  • Project management, ability to analyse marketing and web data, as well as organising and briefing new content
  • An advocate of process, able to implement it across multiple teams within digital
  • Extensive knowledge of SEMRush, Search Console, and other SEO tools
  • Ability to multitask and work across multiple products and audience types
  • Ability to effectively collaborate cross-functionally, with strong communication and presentation skills

  • An increase in organic search traffic
  • A seamless site experience, whether that be to content pages or checkout
  • New processes adapted and led by you, with teams adjusting to the ways of working
  • An increase in overall site health, with a clear roadmap for what is next
  • Implementation of an end to end product lifecycle for .com

Specific metrics will be set when in role and will be reviewed and built upon regularly. Alongside this, you will be supported with a personal performance plan that will enable you to continue improving your own performance and impact.
