Job summary

Newcastle University is seeking a Digital Content Editor to plan, create and edit effective content that supports strategic objectives. You will manage content workflow, ensure guidelines are followed, and contribute to web projects within the Web Content Team based in the Faculty for Humanities and Social Sciences.

You will work to integrate best practice in web design, usability and accessibility, while collaborating with stakeholders to meet user needs and improve performance through

Qualifications

• Practical experience in a similar role.
• Excellent copywriting and web writing, including micro-content and SEO.
• Proofreading and house-style sub-editing.
• Significant experience with Adobe Creative Suite and visual design tools.
• Knowledge of web usability, accessibility and content delivery best practices.
• Experience with CMS and digital publishing platforms.
• Experience using analytics to improve website performance.

Responsibilities

• Create and edit content optimised for search and mobile.
• Support web projects, content workflow, and guidelines.
• Develop and implement user-centred content design principles.
• Provide editorial support to editors and colleagues across the university.
• Apply content measurement frameworks and web analytics findings.
