Job summary

UK Fusion Energy Ltd. (UKFE) seeks a Digital and Site Communications Officer to lead digital channels and engage with communities and stakeholders for the STEP programme. You will develop content, campaigns and engagement activities across digital and community channels.

This varied role blends digital communications with stakeholder engagement, community consultation and event delivery, working with local authorities and partners to foster understanding and support.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified or equivalent relevant communications experience.
• Experience working within a communications, public affairs, stakeholder engagement or external affairs environment.
• Proven experience organising and delivering community, stakeholder or public engagement events.
• Experience working in large, complex or matrix organisations or programmes.
• Strong knowledge of content management systems (CMS), social media platforms and digital analytics tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrable ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships at all levels.
• Understanding of UK government structures and the role of national, regional and local government in major programmes.
• Creative, innovative and proactive approach to communications.
• Ability to represent the organisation professionally and act as a trusted ambassador.
• Full UK driving licence.
• CIPR qualification or equivalent professional communications accreditation.
• Experience working on major infrastructure, construction, energy or engineering programmes.
• Experience supporting Development Consent Order (DCO) consultation activities.
• Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, graphic design tools or video editing software.
• Experience creating multimedia content for digital platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead the management of public enquiries, complaints and requests for information.
• Establish and maintain efficient systems for capturing, recording and reporting stakeholder feedback.
• Produce communications materials that support consultation and engagement activities.
• Use data and insight to strengthen future communications and stakeholder engagement strategies.
• Act as an ambassador for the STEP programme within the local community and wider stakeholder network.
