Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Diesel Engine Engineer to service and repair diesel engines and pump systems on-site at customer locations across the East Midlands. The role combines workshop and field work with standard hours 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, offering overtime opportunities and a clear path for progression.

You will work with specialist equipment, develop your skills through training, and have access to a company van and fuel card as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Experience working on diesel engines.
• Able to diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Commutable within the East Midlands region.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair diesel engines and associated pump systems.
• Split time between workshop and field-based work.
• Carry out planned servicing and reactive maintenance.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and complete repairs.
• Prepare and inspect hire equipment.
• Participate in an on-call rota of 1 in 4.
• Cover the East Midlands patch, working 8:00AM – 4:30PM.
