Job summary

Hawk Hiring in Faringdon is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic to join our independent workshop. The role focuses on servicing, repairs, and diagnostics with a strong emphasis on quality and safety.

The team offers supportive mentoring, stable hours, competitive pay £36k–£40k, and benefits including pension, parking and staff discounts. You will work Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:30, with no weekend shifts, and you’ll use modern diagnostic equipment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Repair with fault‑finding and mechanical repair.
• F‑Gas certification is preferred.
• Full UK driving licence required; MOT Tester licence preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled servicing, routine maintenance, and safety inspections across various vehicle makes and models.
• Execute mechanical repairs, component replacements, and major work on suspension, steering, and braking systems.
• Apply diagnostic tools to identify, isolate, and repair electrical and mechanical faults cleanly.
• Maintain precise job records and keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety guidelines.
