Job summary

Snows Group is seeking a Diagnostic Technician for Snows BMW, Portsmouth. Based in the Portsmouth region, you will perform workshop tasks to meet customer needs and maximise productivity while adhering to brand standards.

You will diagnose faults, service and repair, including air-conditioning and MOT work, and liaise with customers on progress. A strong diagnostic skillset and franchise experience are essential.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds, BTEC or NVQ accreditation.
• Experience in a franchise dealership.
• Strong fault-diagnosis skills.
• Team player with customer service focus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing of vehicles to brand standards.
• Service and repair air-conditioning systems.
• Work to dealership processes and maintain clean, safe environment.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle faults, including MOT work.
• Investigate electrical faults and provide clear reports.
• Carry out welding repairs as part of vehicle issues.
• Obtain estimates and order parts; update customers on progress.

Your day

As aDiagnostic Technician,you will perform a variety of workshop work in an efficient and safe manner. The aim is to meet customer requirements and maximise workshop utilisation and productivity.

Your day will include:

• Performing routine servicing of vehicles in accordance with brand technical standards.
• Undertaking air-conditioning system servicing and repairs.
• Working in accordance with brand and dealership processes.
• Ensuring that working environment is kept clean and devoid of any working practice which may be hazardous.
• Diagnosing and undertaking general repairs to vehicles including MOT repairs.
• Performing diagnostic investigations into vehicle electrical system faults, providing reports on faults found.
• Carrying out welding repairs to vehicles.
• Obtaining estimates and ordering car parts in order to resolve the vehicle issues.
• Liaising with customers where appropriate updating them on the status of their vehicle checks.

Have you got what it takes?

• Relevant City & Guilds, BTEC or NVQ accreditation
• Previous work experience in a franchise dealership
• Highly skilled in fault diagnosis
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Commitment to delivering first class customer service.
• Able to plan, organise self and meet agreed work deadlines.

Hours of work:

Monday to Friday - 08.30-17.30 (1/2 hour for lunch)
