Job summary

Citygate Automotive in Slough, UK, seeks a Diagnostic Technician to perform servicing, diagnosis, and repairs on customer vehicles. You will interact with the Service Reception and Workshop Control and provide expert opinions to customers.

The role requires NVQ in Motor Vehicle Technology or equivalent, a full UK driving licence, and a proactive, team-focused mindset with a drive to learn and coach others.

Qualifications

• NVQ in Motor Vehicle Technology or equivalent is essential.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Diagnostic Technician carry out general servicing and mechanical repairs on our customers vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

Your key responsibilities as a Diagnostic Technician be:

• Being an ambassador of the Citygate workshop and championing technical best practice.
• Carrying out service, diagnosis, and repair of vehicles to excellent standards.
• Communicating with the Service Reception team and Workshop Control.
• Liaising with customers to provide your expert, technical opinion.
• Maintaining good housekeeping standards and orderly administration of your work.
• Maintaining thorough and up-to-date product knowledge.
• Maintaining exceptionally high customer service levels that lead to customer loyalty and referrals.
• Maintaining good housekeeping standards and orderly administration of your work.

Qualifications:

As a Diagnostic Technician, you will ideally have the following skills and attributes:

• Experience ideally within a main dealership and have served a recognised apprenticeship with the appropriate qualifications (an NVQ in Motor Vehicle Technology or equivalent is essential.
• The ability to be self-motivated to achieve targets.
• A passion for learning and if desired to progress further.
• An interest in coaching apprentices and supporting service technicians.
• A positive attitude and to be a good team player
• You must have a full UK driving licence

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience of working with The Volkswagen Group brands would be desirable but is not mandatory (excellent training can be provided).
