Job summary

Pentagon Motor Group in Sheffield is seeking a qualified Diagnostic Vehicle Technician to join the aftersales team. You will identify and repair complex mechanical and electrical faults using advanced diagnostic equipment, while ensuring quality workmanship to manufacturer standards.

The role offers progression opportunities, manufacturer training, and a supportive team environment in a busy workshop. A full UK driving licence is required; 42.5-hour week from 08:00 to 17:30, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

  • Qualified to Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of workshop experience.
  • Full UK driving licence (no more than 6 points).
  • Strong problem solving and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and resolve complex mechanical and electrical faults on customer vehicles.
  • Work with advanced diagnostic equipment and data.
  • Ensure accurate assessments and quality repairs per manufacturer standards.
  • Support workshop efficiency and customer satisfaction while developing the team’s technical capability.

Diagnostic Vehicle Technician – Sheffield, Full-Time - Permanent – Brand Sheffield – Pentagon Motor Group

Are you an experienced and qualified Diagnostic Vehicle Technician looking to join a supportive team, progress your career and work with an established brand? What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Identifying and resolving complex mechanical and electrical faults on customer vehicles.
  • Working with advanced diagnostic equipment and technical data.
  • Ensure accurate assessments and quality repairs are carried out in line with manufacturer standards.
  • Support both workshop efficiency and customer satisfaction, while helping to develop the technical capability of the wider team.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Qualified to level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of practical experience working in a workshop environment.
  • Takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a busy team.
  • Full UK driving licence (max 6 points).
