Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Diabetes Specialist Nurse to join our team at Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust on a fixed-term contract for 12 months. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, motivated, and forward-thinking, with a passion for improving diabetes care, including pregnancy, technology, and insulin pump therapy.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Proven clinical skills as a diabetes specialist nurse
  • Experience in running clinics, Type 1 services such as YAC or pumps, antenatal care, or spoke services
  • Strong nurse-led outpatient experience is essential

Work Details

The role supports our outpatient services at Maidstone Hospital, working Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, three days a week. The role offers opportunities to work across various service areas over time, including inpatient, outpatient, and community diabetes CNS roles.

Responsibilities
  • Autonomous practice and coordination of diabetes nursing services
  • Managing patient caseloads and supporting patients and families
  • Developing evidence-based clinical practice
  • Collaborating with colleagues and establishing communication with primary healthcare
  • Participating in research and audit activities
