JINGDONG Logistics seeks a dedicated Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser (DGSA) to ensure regulatory compliance for transport, storage and handling of dangerous goods across its logistics operations in Bedford. The role focuses on safe lithium battery storage, risk assessments and governance, reporting to the Health and Safety Director.

You will develop training, lead investigations, and work with Transport Managers to maintain high safety standards and regulatory adherence across multiple sites.

Qualifikationen

• Essential: DGSA certification.
• Strong knowledge of dangerous goods transport regulations including ADR.
• Experience managing dangerous goods compliance within logistics, warehousing or distribution environments.
• Demonstrated experience managing risks associated with lithium battery storage, handling and transport.
• Experience conducting dangerous goods audits and investigations.

Aufgaben

• Act as the appointed DGSA for the organisation.
• Ensure compliance with dangerous goods transport regulations including ADR.
• Provide guidance on classification, packaging, labelling and transport of dangerous goods.
• Provide expertise on storage/handling/transport of lithium batteries.
• Develop safe systems of work for lithium battery storage.
• Ensure fire risk mitigation and emergency readiness for lithium batteries.
• Advise on UN numbers (e.g., UN3480, UN3481, UN3090, UN3091).
• Conduct DG risk assessments across distribution centres and transport operations.
• Review warehouse layouts and storage practices for hazardous materials.
• Implement controls for storage, charging, damage and disposal of lithium batteries.
• Carry out DG audits and inspections; identify and close gaps.
• Lead investigations into DG incidents and non-compliance events.
• Provide DG training programmes for warehouse teams and drivers.
• Ensure CG documentation and records are accurate.
