Job summary

Irwin and Colton in Bedfordshire is seeking a Dangerous Goods Safety Manager to oversee ADR compliance across our logistics operations. You will act as the appointed DGSA, guiding classification, packaging and transport of dangerous goods, with a focus on lithium batteries.

You will develop safe systems of work, conduct risk assessments, and deliver training to the operational teams, helping us maintain the highest safety standards while ensuring regulatory excellence.

We are seeking a dedicated Dangerous Goods Safety Manager to oversee regulatory compliance and risk management across logistics operations.

This role requires the development of safe systems of work, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring operational safety in handling hazardous materials, with a special focus on lithium batteries.

The key responsibilities include:

• Act as the organisation's appointed Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser (DGSA), ensuring full compliance with ADR regulations.
• Provide expert guidance on the classification, packaging, labelling, and transportation of dangerous goods.

The successful candidate will have:

• Knowledge of fire safety risks related to lithium battery storage is desirable.
