Job summary

The Abbey on-site in Tamworth seeks a DFG Technical Officer to join the Damp, Mould, and Disrepair Service team. The role is a 6-month contract, based on site with travel around Tamworth, paying £30-£35 per hour via Umbrella and 0.45p mileage from office to sites.

You will produce designs using CAD, manage surveys through practical completion, and liaise with customers, therapists, and contractors to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Significant demonstrable surveying experience in housing, private practice, local authority or similar.
• Contract administration and project management experience is highly desirable.
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with quality and compliance.

Are you an experienced Building surveying professional with a passion for delivering excellent customer service, and achieving high-quality results? If so, I'd love to hear from you.

We are looking for a proactive and motivated DFG Technical Officer to join a leading Property Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to provide operational support to the Damp, Mould, and Disrepair Service Team.

You will be based on site with frequent travel around Tamworth!

Location: On site, Tamworth 6 month contract £30-£35 per hour via Umbrella 0.45p mileage from office to sites.

DFG Technical Officer duties

• Produce designs and specifications for adaptations, including ramps, level access showers and more complex adaptation schemes using CAD.
• Manage projects from survey through to practical completion.
• Work at pace whilst maintaining a high degree of accuracy and quality.
• Liaise with customers, Occupational Therapists, and contractors.
• Undertake contract
• administration and project monitoring.
• Support procurement, tendering and contractor management activities where required.

To succeed as the DFG Technical Officer, you need:

• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload whilst maintaining quality and compliance.
• Knowledge of Schedule of Rates and adaptation costing.
• Significant demonstrable experience in a surveying role in a housing association, private practice, local authority, or similar.
• Contract administration and project management experience are highly desirable.
