Job summary

Kent Fire and Rescue Service is seeking a DevOps Engineer (Grade 7) for a 18-month fixed term contract at their Service Headquarters in Maidstone. The role is hybrid, requiring three days per week in the office, with a 37-hour week and a salary in the range of £44,575 to £50,423 per year.

Qualifications

• Experience automating IT processes and improving delivery.
• Ability to apply modern DevOps practices and tooling.
• Familiarity with source control, automated testing and deployment automation.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to automate manual IT processes with measurable impact.
• Design, implement and maintain automation pipelines, tooling and engineering practices.
• Support adoption of DevOps practices including monitoring and release processes.
• Ensure changes comply with security and operational controls.
• Produce documentation and knowledge transfer for automation and tooling.
