Kent Fire & Rescue Service seeks a DevOps Engineer to improve IT delivery through automation, modern engineering practices and collaboration. You will work across existing platforms and teams, identifying standardisable improvements while coaching colleagues.

Location is Maidstone with hybrid working (min 3 days in office). Base salary ranges £44,575–£50,423 per year, with LGPS pension and generous annual leave.

Formación

• Automation or scripting to improve tech operations or software delivery.
• Technical qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience in IT/ software engineering/ infrastructure.
• DevOps, cloud, automation or engineering certifications (desirable).
• IT service management or change-management qualification (desirable).
• Experience identifying manual work and replacing it via tech or process improvement.
• Experience implementing technical changes in a controlled production environment.
• Experience supporting automation after implementation and handling failures.
• Experience delivering automation across endpoint, infrastructure or cloud-management platforms (desirable).
• Experience with Intune, MECM, Azure, Microsoft 365 or similar enterprise platforms (Desirable).

Responsabilidades

• Identify, prioritise and deliver opportunities to automate manual IT processes with measurable reductions.
• Design, implement and maintain automation, pipelines, tooling and practices to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Support adoption of modern DevOps practices including source control, automated testing and deployment automation.
• Ensure automation and changes comply with security, architecture, change and operational controls.
• Produce documentation and ownership for automation and tooling, including monitoring and knowledge transfer.
