Job summary

Kent Fire and Rescue Service is seeking a Data Governance Officer (Grade 6) on a 12 month fixed term contract, Hybrid in Maidstone. The role supports data accuracy for risk information in Microsoft Dynamics, with guidance and training development to ensure robust governance.

The position requires data quality expertise, strong reporting skills, and familiarity with GDPR and FoI. SQL/PowerBI experience is advantageous for implementing efficient data processes.

Qualifications

• Experience of performing a data quality role and implementing QA processes.
• Experience in writing and presenting reports for diverse audiences.
• Ability to research and analyse information to make evidence-based recommendations.
• Exceptional attention to detail to identify data errors.
• Theoretical and practical knowledge of data quality principles.
• Understanding of GDPR and FoI legislation and implications.
• Understanding of gazetteers and address data governance (desirable).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics and related reporting tools (desirable).
• Proficiency with MS Office, SharePoint, and SQL-based tooling (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Research and review data that is out of date or due for review.
• Investigate and resolve data discrepancies and queries for customers.
• Maintain a robust data quality assurance role across risk-related data.
• Coordinate with local authorities to ensure address data is current.
• Participate in groups prioritising system enhancements identified by users.
• Create reports and MIS to highlight data discrepancies.
• Maintain source reference information in the incident recording system using SQL Server.
