Job summary

Sussex Police Headquarters, Lewes, is recruiting a Devices Technician to join the Digital Data & Technology IT team. You will provide second‑line support for endpoint devices (desktops, laptops, mobile devices), manage tickets using ITIL and Halo ITSM, and travel across Sussex and Surrey to support frontline policing and project work.

Qualifications

• Strong competency with computer hardware and peripherals.
• Familiarity with network connectivity and cabling between computer and peripherals and related standards including client device management and security systems.
• Clean driving licence to drive Force fleet vehicles.
• Pass Police Driving Permit and eyesight test.

Responsibilities

• Provide second-line IT support for endpoint devices (desktops, laptops, body-worn cameras, smartphones, printers, bespoke hardware).
• Travel to Force and multi-agency locations around both counties to support frontline policing and install/maintain devices.
• Deliver second-line support, equipment maintenance and delivery of change project work.
• Manage incoming tickets using ITIL principles with Halo ITSM; prioritise and resolve endpoint issues.
• Handle hardware setup, configuration and deployment; support rollout of new services and skill development.
