Job summary

Lawes Consulting Group Ltd. seeks a senior property & casualty underwriter in Glasgow to blend technical underwriting with strategic influence, shaping broker partnerships across Scotland.

You’ll present propositions for Mid-Market and Mid-Corporate risks, negotiate pricing, build broker relationships and lead large case management for new business, with a hybrid Glasgow-based setup.

Qualifications

• Strong P&C underwriting knowledge of the Scottish market.
• Track record of winning and retaining large, complex business.
• Strong pipeline management and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Present propositions for larger Mid-Market and Mid-Corporate risks, negotiating coverage, wording and pricing with trading underwriters.
• Build a strong pipeline of qualified growth opportunities through client and broker relationships.
• Lead the large case management process for new business.
• Develop and own broker relationships across the region, with accountability for generation, placement and retention of profitable business.
• Underwrite new and existing business in line with underwriting controls, acting as a referral point in branch.
• Maintain a quality distribution strategy with key brokers to hit financial KPIs.

This is a great next step for an experienced senior underwriter ready to move into a role that blends technical underwriting with strategic influence, shaping how the business partners with broker portfolios across Scotland.

What you'll be doing:

• Presenting propositions for larger Mid-Market and Mid-Corporate risks, negotiating coverage, wording and pricing with trading underwriters.
• Building a strong pipeline of qualified growth opportunities through client and broker relationships.
• Leading the large case management process for new business.
• Developing and owning broker relationships across the region, with full accountability for generation, placement and retention of profitable business.
• Underwriting new and existing business in line with underwriting controls, acting as a referral point in branch.
• Maintaining a quality distribution strategy with key brokers to hit financial KPIs.
